Chris Hollod is a venture capitalist, angel investor, and advisor in LA, where he invests in innovative, early-stage consumer start-ups at the convergence of culture and wellness.
Chris is an expert negotiator and has done more than 150 deals across four different investment entities, totaling more than $300m in value. He has invested in companies such as Uber, Airbnb, Pinterest, Houzz, Spotify, Warby Parker, and Casper.
Chris is the founder and Managing Partner of his own investment entity, Hollod Holdings. Prior to founding his company, Chris spent eight years working for multi-billionaire investor Ron Burkle, where he acted as both a Venture Partner and Traveling Chief of Staff.
Chris was also the Managing Partner of A-Grade Investments, a venture capital fund founded by actor Ashton Kutcher and top talent manager Guy Oseary.
Chris currently focuses on consumer goods start-ups in the overall health and wellness sector, but more specifically, he has become one of the top angel investors in the alternative alcohol space. He has backed a variety of brands covering hard kombucha, botanical spirits, CBD beverages, canned cocktails, and wine spritzers.
Chris has been in love with wine for more than 15 years, and at one point, he even contemplated pursuing his Sommelier degree. He enjoys experimenting with new wine producers and learning about innovative production techniques. While at a restaurant, Chris never orders the same glass of wine twice.
